In 2014, the release of PHP 7 brought significant performance improvements, making it even faster and more efficient. It also introduced new features such as anonymous classes and return type declarations, further enhancing its capabilities as a programming language.
Today, PHP is one of the most popular programming languages in the world, powering over 79% of all websites, including major platforms such as Facebook and Wikipedia. Its evolution from a simple personal home page tool to a powerful and widely used programming language is a testament to the dedication and contributions of the open-source community.
