In 2004, the development of PHP 5 began, with a focus on improving performance and adding more advanced features such as enhanced error handling and support for XML. This version was finally released in 2004 and became the standard for PHP development. In recent years, PHP has continued to evolve, with the release of PHP 7 in 2015, which brought significant performance improvements and new features such as scalar type declarations and anonymous classes. Today, PHP is one of the most widely used programming languages, powering over 79% of websites on the internet. It has also become a key language for web development, with frameworks like Laravel and Symfony making it easier to build complex web applications. From a simple personal project to a widely used language, the evolution of PHP is a testament to the power of open-source development and the ever-growing demand for dynamic and interactive websites.
